DESCRIPTION:¡Conviértete en un Líder del Futuro del Concilio de Desórdenes Sanguíneos de California!\nLíderes del Futuro de 2027 es un programa de cuatro días en Sacramento. Los Líderes del Futuro se inspiran de otros adolescentes para contar sus historias. ¡Comparte tu voz donde más importa! \nAPLICA AQUí\nEl Programa “Líderes del Futuro” del Concilio de Desórdenes Sanguíneos de California (BDCC\, por sus siglas en inglés) brinda capacitación en liderazgo y desarrolla habilidades de defensa para los jóvenes afectados por desórdenes sanguíneos. Antes del Día Legislativo\, obtendrás más información sobre tu papel en el proceso gubernamental. También aprenderás a ser un defensor efectivo para ti y tu familia.\n\n¿Cuándo?\n\n\n17 de marzo\, 6 – 7 PM – Seminario web de preparación para el Día Legislativo por Zoom\n20 – 23 de marzo – Programa en persona en Sacramento (22 de marzo – el Día Legislativo)\n\n\n\nLos detalles:\n\n\nLos Líderes del Futuro asistirán en persona a un programa previo al Día Legislativo el 20 y 21 de marzo y la mañana después\, el 23 de marzo. Allí descubrirás cómo contarles tu historia a los legisladores. También aprenderás a defenderte a tí mismo y a tu familia en otras áreas de tu vida.\nLos Líderes del Futuro participan en juegos y actividades de desarrollo de liderazgo. ¡También visitan al Capitolio! ¡Lo más importante es que los adolescentes aprendan sobre el proceso legislativo y cómo te afecta!\n¡Durante el Día Legislativo el 22 de marzo\, los Líderes del Futuro asumen un papel principal en las reuniones legislativas! SUMMARY:2027 Future Leaders Program
DESCRIPTION:Become a Bleeding Disorders Council of California Future Leader! \nThe 2027 Future Leaders is a four day\, in person program in Sacramento. Teens come together from across the State. You meet other youth in the rare disease community\, make new friends and have fun! Future Leaders find inspiration among other teens to be bold. You share your voice where it matters most!\n\nAPPLY HERE TODAY!\n\nThe Bleeding Disorders Council of California’s (BDCC’s) Future Leaders Program provides leadership training and develops advocacy skills for teens affected by bleeding disorders. Leading up to Legislative Day\, you will find out more about your role in the government process. You will also learn to be an effective advocate for yourself and your family.\n\nWhen? March 17th\, 6 – 7 PM Webinar via Zoom\n             March 20th – 23rd\, In person program in Sacramento\nDetails:\n\nFuture Leaders will attend a pre-Legislative Day program in person on March 20th and 21st. There you will find out how to tell your story to legislators. You will also learn to advocate for yourself and your family in other areas of your life.\nFuture Leaders take part in leadership building games and activities. Other fun highlights include a visit to the Capitol and team building games! Most importantly\, teens learn about the legislative process and how it affects you!\nDuring Legislative Day on March 22nd\, Future Leaders take a lead role in legislative meetings! You will tell your story and advocate for important legislation at the State level.\nBefore leaving for home on March 23rd\, the day after Legislative Day\, you will have a chance to share your Legislative Day experiences and discuss how to keep advocating during the rest of the year.\nOn the final morning of the program\, one of our Future Leaders will be elected by the other teens\, with mentor approval\, to spend the year as a Board Representative on the Bleeding Disorders Council of CA Board.  This non-voting position provides the BDCC Board insights from the perspective of young advocates within the bleeding disorder community such as yourself.  As a Board Representative\, you would get real-world exposure to nonprofit governance\, strategic planning\, and financial nonprofit responsibilities.\n\nWhere does the program take place? \n\n\nPre-Legislative Day orientation is virtual on March 17th\nAll other aspects of Future Leaders and Legislative Day are In person\, Sacramento (subject to change based on public health & safety)\n\nAre you in high school? If you have a bleeding disorder or have a sibling or parent with one\, we hope you apply! \nJoin us this March for the Future Leaders Program! \n\n\nRequirements to Apply:\n\n You must be a high school student (9th – 12th grade) at the time of the program.\n You must have a rare disease or be a sibling or child of a person with a rare disease.\n You must be able to commit to participating in all parts of the program.\n\nAPPLY HERE TODAY!\nDeadline to apply is February 1st.
